The H&D Difference

Street Transformation

Deep Ellum Foundation | Dallas, TX

Design Future Dallas

Organizer, Crowdus Street Design Competition

“This was the competition entry that we believe best addresses the needs of the community.”

Visual Voice Media

Reimagine Crowdus

“(In September 2016) Crowdus Street in Deep Ellum transformed into a pedestrian street with concerts, performances, activities and more! Deep Ellum lacks a public space. A gathering area is a necessary addition as the neighborhood continues to grow. The long-term vision is to turn this experiment into a reality. That means a gathering space in Deep Ellum, more opportunities for events outside, and increased walkability. Ultimately, it’s more fun for visitors and residents, not to mention more traffic for businesses! The observations and feedback from Reimagine Crowdus will become a case study and could eventually inform a proposal to the City of Dallas for a future more permanent transformation.”

University Master Plan

St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences | Ifakara, Tanzania

Bradley Hansen, PE

Project Manager, Engineering Ministries International

“I worked with Neal on a master plan for a rural Tanzanian university looking to build on their blossoming medical training programs by developing their 40 acres of land into a nationally recognized institution of local development. Neal was the landscape architecture specialist on our team of 11 design professionals developing concept plans, renderings and a report to serve the university’s fundraising and planning purposes. Neal provided timely, high quality designs and renderings that far exceeded my expectations. His ideas were creative and collaborative and really encouraged the team to think more critically about the spaces being designed. I would definitely work with Neal on future projects.”

Equine Therapy Facility

Private Practice | Evergreen, CO

Lisa Drey, RN

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner | Licensed Professional Counselor | Equine-Assisted Therapy Candidate

“I needed someone who was multi-skilled to conceptualize a site plan to make my property a dream facility for both horses and clients, as well as remodel a bathroom, seed a pasture (at 7,200’ elevation), and care for horses. If I’d had to hire a designer, multiple contractors, and a ranch hand, it would have required a business loan. Yet, I found all of those things and more in Neal, and he worked with me on the fees! Without Neal’s reliability, trustworthiness, and consistency, I never could have focused my attention on my clients while maintaining my property and making the necessary changes to it to expand my business.”

Church Relocation

Littleton Christian Church | Littleton, CO

Rev. Mike Wright

“Our small church is looking for a new location, and to that end Neal has provided a diverse wealth of insight and experience. He has introduced us to tons of resources to shape our vision. He thinks creatively and inspires creativity. He is diligent and follows through. He is helping us analyze and map our present and potential ministry impact so we are working with the facts and not just feelings. He has even produced preliminary designs for potential sites to help us assess viability. I highly recommend him!”

Dr. Lee Hardy

Leadership Committee Member | Grand Rapids, MI

“Our aim was to make the website useful for two audiences: the members of the CNU-MCC (mostly professionals in the area of architecture and urban design) and members of churches and faith-based non-profit organizations. For both, we wanted to be a valuable source of information, mutual support, and networking. In addition to his fine sense of graphic design, Neal possesses the technology skills needed to integrate various forms of social media into a well-functioning whole. This will help us reach out to the public and serve our members more effectively. I found Neal to be creative, organized, responsive, and conscientious in his work for us.”
